Zach Ertz Appreciation Post and Lost Episode

The Quarterback Factory Show just went live for the 32nd time since the birth of this platform. It was the third live show on @qbfactoryshow Instagram, but this episode was special.. so special that you will never see it, unless you tuned in live. A lost episode, never to resurface. A "technical glitch" that made the episode, live-only, and not recorded for use later on. No way to view it again, no way to upload it to YouTube, Spotify, or iTunes.... 'tis lost... However, a gain presents itself with this blog post. Allow, if you will, a recap of some of the broad topics discussed during the show that is lost.. forever...

The lost episode in question lasted about an hour and a half (borderline two hours) and the crew went on many tangents regarding TV Shows, Movies, memories together... as per usual. But the core of the episode focused mainly around an appreciation for an Eagle who will likely no longer be an Eagle come next season.

Zach Ertz is the best Tight End to ever dawn a Philadelphia Eagles uniform. Hands down. That is not a light statement, as he tops an impressive list of Tight ends through the history of the birds. A list including those before our time like Pete Retzlaff, Charle Young, John Spagnola, and Keith Krepfle.  To the ones we know in more recent eras like Jason Dunn, Brent Celek, L.J. Smith, Chad Lewis, and Keith Jackson! This is a good group to have your name along side.

Later in the show we ran through our favorite Ertz catches of his career, and obviously the Super Bowl touchdown catch was mentioned more than once.

A runner-up Ertz catch was the overtime touchdown vs the Giants in 2019. A catch like that, vs a division opponent, to keep the Birds' playoff hopes alive is nothing short of remarkable.

Another amazing Ertz moment mentioned was Carson Wentz' first NFL completion, Week 1 vs the Browns in 2016, to put the entire NFL on notice that this combination of Quarterback and Tight End was not to be taken lightly.

No doubt there are many more amazing Ertz moments like the few mentioned here. Leave a comment of some of your favorite that we left out!

We talked about if Ertz' number will get retired, and we certainly believe so, somewhere down the line. Hopefully NOT before on Brian Westbrook's number 36 gets the retirement treatment, and likely not before Jason Peters (numbe 71) or Fletcher Cox (number 91) either. Only time will tell.

One burning debate we had during the show.. Is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze a good sequel? We we're somehow split on the decision. Some of us said yes, and Ninja Rap is better than Ice Ice Baby and that the movie was fun and light. But some of us said no and not being too keen on the switch in April O'Neil actresses from Judith Hoag to Paige Turco and the licensing issues that left out Rocksteady and Bebop for their generic counterparts: Tokka and Rahzar. Help us settle the debate with a comment!

You can checkout our latest episodes on Spotify, not the aforementioned lost episode though, because well... that one is lost forever.
